MEET OUR TEAM
Jen Conner, Veterinarian -
Jami Bender, Certified Veterinary Technician - Jami is native of Plant City.
Her career at the Animal Wellness Center started in August 2004 as a Kennel Technician. As her love for the field of veterinary medical grew, she decided to attend the Veterinary Technology program at Hillsborough Community College. She earned her degree in 2008 and became certified in January 2009. Together with her husband, Matt, they have a menagerie of animals, including dogs, cats, a mule and a pig. Jami greatly enjoys serving our clients and the needs of their beloved pets. She looks forward to serving the community for years to come.
Lynn Anne Castleberry, Receptionist - Lynn Anne was born and raised in Meadville, Pennsylvania, graduated from college in New York and then moved to Florida in 1993. She has been with the clinic since October 2005. Her's is the voice you will hear when you call or the first face you will see when you come into the clinic (along with our three front desk kitties). Lynn Anne thoroughly enjoys the daily interaction with our clients and cherished pets. Her spare time is spent with her husband, Frank, and their English Bulldogs, Chihuahua and cat - who keeps them all in line.
Liz Kuhlmeyer, Veterinary Technician - Liz has worked at the clinic since 1990 but has been around the business many years prior to that. Her father, Dr. James McFarland, was the previous owner. Her family also shares their home with three cats, one dog and several salt water fish.
Betty Lewis, Veterinary Technician - Betty was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, a long time ago. She is a true Florida Cracker. She moved to Plant City in 1990 so that she could keep her horses at home. Even before high school graduation she worked at veterinarian offices caring for animals. It seems to have turned into a lifelong love affair. She tried other occupations but always wound up back working with the animals. Betty started at Animal Wellness Center in August 2009. Over the years she has owned several animals, most of which were strays or rescues. Currently she has horses, dogs, cats and a turtle. In her spare time she enjoys trail riding, barrel racing, kayaking, fishing and visiting family.
Kasey Meadows, Veterinary Technician Assistant - Kasey has been working at the clinic since May 2009. She is a graduate of Durant High School and plans to attend Hillsborough Community College to major in Equine Massage Therapy. She is a member of the National Barrel Horse Association.
